Segmentation Examples


Sometimes it’s helpful to turn the persona into a story. Although not necessary, it can help you relate to your persona. Personas are simple stories that provide data-backed insight into a potential customer. In this case, the product manager has written out a persona based on user surveys. Use details from your own research to create a persona. Note: you can (and should) have many personas.



Persona: Maria


Hi, My name is Maria. I’m a 32 year old woman living in Peru. I am a farmer looking for products that can help me with pest management. My busiest time is our harvest season, August. For my area, my income is average. My biggest challenge is loss of crop due to pests.



Persona: Jose


Hi, My name is Jose. I’m a 41 year old man living in Peru. I am an agrodealer looking for products that can help me with disease management, and I work specifically in meat production. My busiest time is our pre-harvest season, May. For my area, my income is high. My biggest challenge is selling inventory to farmers.



Persona: Francisco


Hi, My name is Francisco. I’m a 46 year old man living in Peru. I am a farmer looking for products that can help me with pest management, and I work specifically in staple crops. My busiest time is our harvest season, August. For my area, my income is low. My biggest challenge is postharvest tasks.
